Fantasy Football

Well its that time of year again, to start sending the emails about getting a fantasy football league together. I’ve always done the free leagues and had a good time. But the few years not everyone that started in the league followed though the entire season, which kinda kills the fun. This year I wanted to find a place online that cost $5 or $10 just so people would be more willing to play out the entire season. It looks like this year ESPN is totally free. We had used MSN/Fox Sports the past two years and their live draft and first few weeks where always awful. We used to use Yahoo until they started charging for everything.

As anyone used ESPN in the past? I would still like to require a 5-10 fee with small prizes at the end.

I’ll send emails out soon or contact me if you want to play this year. You all know the address, if not just leave a comment here.

later,jb

Man sues Angels over 2005 Mother’s Day promotion

What a friggin moron!!!! Why do people think they deserve anything? If you break or don’t follow the rules or laws, you lose. Get over it, move on with your life.

A man who was denied a red nylon tote bag during a Mother’s Day promotion at an Angels baseball game has filed a sex and age discrimination lawsuit against the team.

Pacers’ Jackson calls ban on chains ‘racist’

I’ve been listening to some of the reports and players comments on the new dress code in the NBA and I have to laugh. Your job is playing basketball. At anyone’s jobs there are certain ways to act, perform, dress, etc. These can change at any time, your working for someone. If my boss comes to me today and tells me tomorrow I have to wear a shirt and tie. I either have to go by some ties or find another job. As for the NBA’s new dress code, the players union voted yes on this change!!!

I just laugh to hear a player that is paid millions of dollars to play a game, using the race card. Sorry buddy NO SOUP FOR YOU!!! The NBA is looking to improve their image they want to have a more professional look, the ‘thug’ look will never be a professional look.

Pacers’ Jackson calls ban on chains ‘racist statement’

by Marc Stein

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Pacers guard Stephen Jackson, contending that a new ban on chains worn over clothing is “a racist statement” from the league, wore every long, diamond-studded chain in his collection Tuesday night as a protest.

Jackson voiced…

BOO!!!!

Sounds like we are still stuck with Joey. Mike McMahon looked good late in the game on Thursday. Next year, Mike will leave us and we’ll be stuck with Joey for many years to come. The Lions have no hope of a successful season with Joey

What a Saturday

Pistons riot
ESPN
USATODAY
Ok, first off the fan shouldn’t have threw anything at the players. But even if this was not on a basketball court. Punching someone is not the correct response. None if you play basketball for you job. The fans pay your salary, you have to let the security deal with stupid fans. I was listening to sports reporters blame everyone, sure no one should be let off the hook, but 90 percent of the problem was when the rapping moron Ron Artest.
Artest doesn’t belong in the nba, he doesn’t want to play, he wants to be a R&B artist. Yeah right!
The nba for the most part is rich criminals, people that if they weren’t playing basketball would be selling drugs or some other drain on society.

Basketball isn’t the only sport that has these issues. Football has its share of murders and druggies. Can anyone say Ricky Williams?

College football fight
Even after all the news coverage about the Pistons brawl, the game between South Carolina and Clemson turned into a huge brawl!!! WTF!!!

UofM loses, but should still be smelling roses.
But while OSU gets the bragging rights, Michigan gets the Rose Bowl after No. 17 Iowa routed No. 9 Wisconsin.

CMU wins

Matrix 3
I watched the third matrix movie saturday morning using Charter’s VOD. I don’t get it, can someone explain the end to me?

NFL Players Union is a joke

This is a surprising move by Dallas, but I happy to see that they wanted to move away from players that ‘might’ be using drugs. In the 90’s Dallas had all the druggies playing for them.
Reading this article I had to laugh. A spokes man for the Players union stated

“I just heard about this,” Upshaw told the Post for Thursday’s editions. “I won’t comment on a drug case. I will say under our collective bargaining agreement a club cannot conduct its own, independent drug testing and impose its own discipline. They just can’t do it.”

Ok, the league agreed to teams not doing their own drug testing. My question is why? If it is against the rules, why shouldn’t the nfl or a team be allowed to drug test a player anytime?

Carter stunned, denies he used cocaine

OXNARD, Calif. — Quincy Carter became the Cowboys’ starting
quarterback three years ago after veteran Tony Banks was
unexpectedly cut during training camp. His time in Dallas
stunningly ended in a similar way.

In a virtually unexplained move Wednesday, Dallas cut the player
who began camp just four days earlier as the No. 1 quarterback.
Carter started every game last season, when the Cowboys won 10
games and made the playoffs in coach Bill Parcells’ first year.

HA-HA

WR hands over money, jewelry

BERKELEY, Calif. — Keyshawn Johnson was mugged at gunpoint Wednesday, robbed of money and jewelry but unhurt, police said.

They said the wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was
accosted up by two men as he was talking on his cell after walking
out of a barber shop.

“Johnson gave up his money and jewelry and the suspects fled,”
Lt. Eric Gustafson said.

No arrests have been made.

This is frigin’ ridiculous

OK now we have these over paid, whiny wide receivers trying to top each other after scoring a touchdown? Here’s an idea, hand the ball to the ref and go back to the sideline. Unless you just won the game, get over it. I saw an interview with Horn on ESPN and he’s defending himself by saying he’s just having fun and that everyone enjoyed it. No I’m sorry I tuned in to watch football not you talk on the phone or dance!!!! Then during the interview Michael Irvin speaks up in Horn’s defense, stated that if the ball was intercepted the defense would be dancing and celebrating.

There is a huge difference between celebrating a good play and moving on with the game , and using a cell phone to make a call or pulling out a sharpie to sign the ball!!!

Cell phone was stashed behind goal post

NEW ORLEANS — Joe Horn really did phone it in Sunday night.

The New Orleans receiver couldn’t wait to talk about his
touchdown, so he pulled out a cell phone and made a call from the
end zone.

After catching the second of four touchdown passes against the
New York Giants, Horn was handed a flip-phone by teammate Michael
Lewis, who pulled it out from under the padding used to protect the
goal post.

UPDATE:

Agent calls fine ‘very excessive’

Joe Horn’s phone call will prove costly, as the NFL plans to fine the Saints receiver $30,000 for his cell-phone celebration.

The fine was confirmed for ESPN.com by agent Ralph Vitolo and NFL spokesman Greg Aiello. Horn is expected to be apprised of the fine in writing on Wednesday, the day on which NFL officials typically notify players of any punitive actions.

The fine stems from the now-infamous post-touchdown celebration stunt in the second quarter of New Orleans’ 45-7… [ESPN.com]

Please oh Please fire Millen!!!

Morton also called comment ‘unacceptable’

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Once again, Detroit Lions president Matt Millen opened his mouth out of frustration — and created controversy.

Millen, rebuffed in his efforts to congratulate Chiefs receiver Johnnie Morton following Kansas City’s 45-17 victory over Detroit on Sunday, responded by calling the former Lion a “faggot.”

According to a report in Monday’s editions of the Kansas City Star, Millen claimed he was angry that Morton, who has criticized him in the past following his… [ESPN.com]
