Security URL scanners

As the internet continues to evolve, so do the threats that come with it. One of the most common threats to websites and online platforms is malware, which can be introduced through malicious links and URLs. To combat this, security URL scanners have become an increasingly popular tool for website owners and administrators. In this blog post, we’ll explore what security URL scanners are, how they work, and why they’re important for online security.

What is a security URL scanner?
A security URL scanner is a tool that analyzes URLs and links to determine if they are safe or potentially harmful. These scanners use a variety of techniques to identify malicious links, including signature-based detection, behavioral analysis, and machine learning algorithms. Some scanners are standalone tools, while others are integrated into larger security software suites.

Why is security URL scanner important?
Security URL scanners are important because they help protect users from online threats. By identifying and blocking malicious links, these scanners can prevent users from inadvertently downloading malware or falling victim to phishing attacks. For website owners and administrators, security URL scanners can help identify and remove harmful links from their sites, improving the overall security of the platform.

I used some of these scanners this week when reviewing a phishing attempt. The site came back as clean, but I was alerted that it had been registered just 24 hours prior to the email. Email phishing is getting more and more advanced, this one used o365 email encryption that went to a legit adobe file that had the malicious link embedded into it. Below is the list of scanners I use.
