English, the language of America
The stupid writer at CNN thinks this is a bad thing. Not only should government documents be in English only. I’m sick of seeing other languages in stores (home depot), product boxes, and instructions.
CNN: “As part of its stab at immigration reform, the Senate already has voted to declare English the national language.” - Personally, I don’t have a problem with English being the national language. Plenty of immigrant groups have learned to adapt to their new country, they even learn to speak the language.
So, if you’re serious about staying in the United States of America you should learn to speak English, period.

How to destroy America
Wow, how true this is…..
“First to destroy America, ‘Turn America into a bilingual or multi-lingual and bicultural country. History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two or more competing languages and cultures.’”- Scary, very relevant, read. I believe America could very easily self destruct. All great nations have fallen, so it would make sense that we’d tear ourselves apart at some point. Keep in mind we have fewer freedoms than at any point in the history of this great nation and read it with an open mind. Of course you don’t have to agree with him but I think he has some very valid points.
My wife’s grandparents were first generation Americans of German descent. They were NOT allowed to speak German in their household or in public because this was America and they were going to become Americans, embracing the dream of many and the reality of few. I’m not saying we have to forget our heritage but we need to embrace America as an independent nation with its’ own culture. Here in California there’s a HUGE population that speaks only Spanish and doesn’t care to learn English. We cannot allow Spanish to become a second legal language in the United States, or in this state. In some ways we already have. If you know Spanish it’s easier to land a job with many state and local agencies, like the school system. Why? Because we accept Spanish as a form of communication in schools. We need to immerse children from other countries in the English language, not gradually teach them. After approximately 90-days a child will begin to speak the language because he/she MUST to survive.
If you are not willing to be an American why move to America? Don’t try to turn this country into the place you fled, embrace it and move forward.

RE: Technorati & Del.icio.us Tag Maker for MarsEdit
I would love something like this for w.bloggar!
Garrick Van Buren: “It takes any selected text and appends a ‘(t)’ to it linking to the corresponding tag at Technorati, or a ‘(d)’ for del.icio.us tags, or both. For example: MarsEdit (t), Applescript (t d).”

5 cents a song?
At 5 cents a song, I would even try itunes. This is all theory, but at that price you know they would want some drm included.
irikar writes “An academic at McGill University has a simple plan to stop the plague of unauthorized music downloads on the Internet. But it entails changing the entire music industry as we know it, and Apple Computers, which may have the power to make the change, is listening.” [Slashdot]

POP Felons
Looks like Peanut Butter’s favorite POP Star is defending MP3’s. Even though his album was one of the first with copyright protection!!!! LOL
Well, I certainly wouldn’t have expected this. Michael Jackson has come out today saying that he’s against new legislation that would turn those who use file sharing networks into felons, and could put them in jail. He’s quoted as saying: “Here in America we create new opportunities out of adversity, not punitive laws and we should look to new technologies, like Apple’s new Music Store for solutions. This way innovation continues to be the hallmark of America. It is the fans that drive the success of the music business; I wish this would not be forgotten.” Sounds almost reasonable. [Techdirt]
