Helpdesk support for MFA
As we prepare to rollout MFA outside of IT. I’m reviewing how the helpdesk will support the users when they need help updating a cell number or change of desk number.
Looking at my information as an user for my MFA setting it includes phone, office phone, and Microsoft authenticator.

But the Azure portal only shows Phone, Alternate phone, and email.

In my account the phone items line up its my cell phone. Does Azure know its a cell so it will send a text vs calling it?
The URL for users to access their MFA information is https://myprofile.microsoft.com/
If you have conditional access, you can also create a policy that limits were an user can register a device from. For example you can create the rule to only allow users to add MFA methods if they are coming from your company IP address.
