First off I?m a windows user so don?t say get a Mac. I saw the commercial about IPhoto and how it could search through all your pictures and tag them for you with a persons name. We already have hundreds of photos of the kids and normally don?t go though each one and tag it after we upload it to the computer. I?ve read about Google?s Picasa having face tagging, but that?s only for the online web albums. I want to tag them locally on my PC. I?ve looked but having found anything for windows that would do it. I really like Windows Live Photo Gallery software and I’ve used Adobe elements before, but right now neither of these products will do auto face tags.

  1. Try PicsMatch. It’s slow, but it works pretty well, and it’s about all that’s really out there right now.

    1. PicsMatch looks like it could be what I need, but $50 bucks and no trial version? That’s a little steep. I want to test it and see if the tags for faces it creates show up in windows live photo and/or Picasa

  2. With new things popping out from now where, it will surely come to a point when you would already be able auto face tag!

  3. I don’t really want to use face recognition software on PC at all. I will be happy to see them on flickr, picasa and facebook where I have most of my photos anyway 😉

PicsMatch should definitely provide a demo version to get some buyers.
