Ice Cream

Yesterday we went to Cold Stone Creamery, I got mint mint chocolate chip.
Grace sat in her car seat watching me eat my ice cream, so I took a very very small amount of just the ice cream and gave it to her. She wasn’t to sure if she liked it or not. But it was so cute watching her. She’s never had anything cold before. We warm up all of she food.
Being a parent is great.

Did Grace just say daddy?

Most of the day today Grace has been experiementing with new sounds she can make. A few minutes ago it sounded like she said da-da. I was very proud, but I know it was just her experimenting with her new sounds.
We’ve also been working with her with baby sign language. I found this site for me to learn more signs. MyBabycanTalk.com

Updates and what’s going on.

Sorry for the lack of posts. I’ve just been busy lately and trying to stay off the computer when I get home so I can spend more time with my little lady.
This past weekend we went and saw Dave Ramsey in GR. Melissa and I have decided to start a budget this year and try to pay off the few debts we have. Which is only the car,student loan, and the line of credit we used for the basement. I think if we use the Dave Ramsey baby steps method we could have everything paid off in 2 years.
We also started using YNAB this month for budgeting, its going to take a few months to get it going.

We did it.

Yesterday we got a new vehicle. We’d spent the last 4 months researching and driving vehicles. We decided on the 2006 Toyota RAV4. They added space to the back so there’s a lot of space for luggage and stuff. We ended up getting the limited 4×4 in red. We are leasing it for 3 years and extra miles. We are going to sell the vibe to Melissa’s brother.
Things are going great with the baby, everything normal. We picked out a crib and colors for the nursery.

Simple question: when did it become socially acceptable to get pregnant as a single girl? Like a kid that’s still in High School? I want to know when it happened so that I can do two things: first I need to stop it from becoming acceptable and then I need to beat the person responsible with a fish billy.
We had a couple of girls get pregnant in high school. One of them got an abortion in Freshman year, and I can’t fault in her decision. I know that sounds wrong, and some people might have just changed the “Republican” label of this site to “Liberal Pinko Bastard”, but I know the girl and I know that it would have been a disaster. I know how the kid would have been raised. She did the right thing given the situation. True, I would have rather have seen her not get knocked up in the first place, but in a fucked up situation (no pun intended) she made a responsible choice. It’s a primal rule of life: a situation that starts out fucked up will only get more fucked up over time.

Vegas Baby, Vegas

This weekend we made our plans for our Vegas Vacation. Next month I’ll be spending 4 nights in Sin City. I’m not a big gambler, but I’ve always wanted to visit Vegas, plus I have a friend that moved there about 4 years ago. I’ve been telling him I’d come visit, next month I will.
We are staying at TI, we also got show tickets for Mystère part of the Cirque du Soleil universe

The dope head Ricky Williams may not have fully washed his hands from the Dolphins. The Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga is reporting considering taking Williams to court to get back some of the money the dolphins paid him.
I hope they get all 5 million back. Ricky is a big baby, he couldn’t smoke his weed and play football so he took his ball and went home. He put his selfish needs in front of the good of the team. Instead of leaving them at the end of last season he waits until close to training camp. So I think he owes the team.
